Proverbs 31:25-26

Proverbs 31 says it was written by King Lemuel. Scholars believe that could have been a nickname for Solomon from his mom, Bathsheba. Lemuel means “devoted to God”. We just aren't 100% sure who wrote it.

I’m going to be honest, I’ve never been a giant fan of the Proverbs 31 woman. She’s too perfect and honestly she seems to just serve and work without any time to rest or heal. Women wear multiple hats during different seasons of life. Most women, if honest, will admit to putting ourselves on the back burner so that everyone else is ok. I believe this King could have just been talking about what he thought perfect wife would do.

We can use these verses though. Verse 25 means A LOT to me. I got married the first time a couple of months shy of 20 years old. We were married for 19 years. I was homeschooling our 3 children when he decided he didn’t love me anymore and I was too Godly. I had stayed home a lot with our children & only had jobs here and there when they were in public school. (So I was not a career mom.)

My close friend who lives up north took the time and painted Proverbs 31:25 on a canvas for me. She wanted me to be reminded that I was clothed with strength and dignity and I didn't have to worry about the future- I could laugh at it! (That’s the canvas in the picture attached to this post. It’s hanging on my wall now.)

When you know God’s got you, laughing at the enemy and his schemes can make you feel better! God has a purpose and plan for everyone. We just have to trust Him, then follow Holy Spirit through His leading. Laugh, because fear has no hold on you!
