Proverbs 12:25
Worry and anxiety are kinda like siblings. They look a lot alike and have similar traits. A lot of times worry is when we over think about things out of our control. Usually, worry causes us to believe the worst case scenarios and ALWAYS goes to the negative side of a situation. Solomon's description of worry was that it weighs a person down. It’s heavy. That's not how God wants us to live.
Encouraging words lift people up. But this can only happen if a person confesses that they are struggling with worry or anxiety. This reminds me of James’ advice in Chapter 5, verse 16. “Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces results.”
Worry is a sin because it means you aren’t trusting God and you are trying to fix it or control the outcome. Have you ever talked to anyone about your struggles? If not, I highly recommend it. The prayers and encouraging words of others really helps!
