Philippians 4:6-7

Verse 6’s advice is exactly why I tell us to turn our worries/anxieties into prayer. Because let’s be real, we probably struggled with anxious thoughts about something instead of praying. Am I right? Paul says to stop that! Turn that worry into a prayer and give it to God. We can tell God anything. Paul also says to tell God what we need. Need. Not want. If you are struggling with anxious thoughts, tell God you need them to go away. Then thank Him for the many many things He has done in Your life.

Here is the cool part our our verses, this is what I call an IF/THEN promise. If you do verse 6, then you are guaranteed verse 7! God’s peace is something we will experience when we turn our anxious thoughts into prayer. But wait, there's more! That peace will guard our hearts and MINDS. Guard is defined as, “to keep safe from harm or danger; protect; watch over.” God’s peace can really help us! The key here is we have to allow this. We must go to God with those anxious thoughts so we have His peace guard our hearts and minds. I’m so thankful for God’s promises and how He helps us with anxiety!
