Nehemiah 9:6
Nehemiah was the king’s cup bearer. Chapter 2 tells us that it was the 20th year of King Artaxerxes’ reign in Susa. This king is Queen Esther’s husband’s son. (Even though this book comes before Esther in the Bible. It’s not in chronological order.)
In case you forgot, Nehemiah was the leader on rebuilding the wall around Jerusalem. He was so upset to know that his home was destroyed. That wall was important! Chapter 9 starts out with the Israelites fasting & dressing in burlap. In verse 5, the Levites called out to the crowd telling them to stand up and praise the LORD their God. Then, they began a prayer. That prayer goes until verse 36!
Our verse 6 here is just the beginning. It’s ok to pray this way, as a matter of fact, it's good to praise God and thank Him for who He is and all He has done. They included the angels in their prayer because they knew about them and know that the angels in Heaven worship Him too!
