Acts 10:3-4

Cornelius was a Roman army officer living in Caesarea. He was a Captain of the Italian Regiment. I'm thinking that could mean he was in Italy at the time. Cornelius is described as a God-fearing man as well as everyone in his household. Verses 5 & 6 give instructions… Cornelius was told to send for Peter. Peter is Simon Oeter who was with Jesus during His ministry.

It’s interesting to me that God sent an angel but it says in a vision. So I'm thinking it was a literal physical visit where others could see. Only Cornelius. The message from the angel was GOOD! God had heard Cornelius’ prayers and seen how he served his community.

God sent Peter to fully give the Gisprl, to baptize, and teach about the Holy Spirit. This is one way God was letting the message of Jesus get around the world.

At our Christmas Eve service at church, as I watched a very dark room lit up as each person shared their flame to light each other's candles. Isn’t that the Gospel in a nutshell? We received the light of Christ, so then we needed to share it. Then, the light aka Gospel spreads!
