Mark 3:5-6

Today's verses happened while Jesus was in the synagogue on the Sabbath. We know that God gave Israel 10 Commandments. One of which is “Remember to observe the Sabbath day and keep it holy.” God created the Sabbath as a day of rest dedicated to Him. He didn’t want anyone to work on that day. (Exodus 20:8-11)

The Pharisees were considering healing on the Sabbath as “work”. Obviously God does not consider healing on the Sabbsth as work because Jesus did it more than once. There is NO way Jesus would break one of the 10 Commandments.

As I have mentioned before, the Pharisees added over 600 “commandments” to God’s 10. They got very specific about Sabbath “work”. Jesus was doing what God told Him to do and trying to show them that healing on the Sabbath was not work. This particular healing kick started the plot to kill Him. It really amazes me that Jesus was sought after and killed for doing GOOD things. He never sinned, so He never broke 1 of God’s Commandments.
