Malachi 3:8-10

Malachi was a prophet to Israel, but I am not sure of the time in which he served. Starting at the top of Chapter 3 my Bible has the title, “The Coming Day of Judgment” then at verse 6, it says, “A Call To Repentance”.

A lot of Pastors use these verses to teach on tithing. These are great verses for that. A “tithe” is a tenth. Way back in Moses’ day, God gave the Israelites the command to give the 1st of everything to the Priests & worship leaders. They were not able to work like everyone else. Their Temple duties wouldn't allow it. That title covered them & their families.

People often get upset and wonder why God wants THEIR money. NEES FLASH! It’s not ours. Everything we have is His. He blessed us to have what we do. And, tithing gives us this promise from God. He will pour out blessings so great we won’t have enough room for it all! Did you realize this was an IF/Then promise?
