John 17:15-17

Our eavesdropping on Jesus's prayer continues today. Scholars say when something is repeated 3 times in the Bible, we need to pay attention. Just in these 5 verses (yesterday & today), He has said we aren't of this world 3 times. Therefore, we can conclude that it was important.

     Jesus wasn't asking God to take them or us out of this world. He just wanted us safe from the evil one. Verse 17 helps add to my theory that our spirit is from Heaven. I could be wrong on that, but it's just something I think. (Just because I think we were in Heaven first doesn't mean we all automatically go back.)

     Ultimately, what makes us holy and citizens of Heaven, is a right relationship with Christ. Nothing WE can do in and of ourselves gives us a home in Heaven. It's only by His death, burial, and resurrection that our citizenship was purchased.
