1 Peter 2:10-11
Peter was one of Jesus's closest disciples. I honestly wish he would have written more letters! In Chapter 2 he is talking about representing Jesus. Verse 9 calls us chosen people and royal priests. Then verse 10 references Hosea 1:6, verse 9, and chapter 2 verse 23. Hosea is a hard book to read. God had to deal with the Israelites but then He blessed them.
Verse 10 is true for us. Before we became Christ followers, we didn't have a specific identity. We were gifted, had personalities, & such of course. But we were worldly.
Giving our hearts and minds to Christ made us "temporary residents" of earth. Peter warns us to keep away from worldly desires because they wage war on our souls. The enemy wants us caught up in ungodly worldly things. We have a choice on what we focus on. I'm not saying we get hyper focused on Heaven, not at all. But hyper focused on Jesus & His way of living, ABSOLUTELY!
