Job 42:7-8

There are 2 lessons in today’s verses in my opinion. First, BE CAREFUL who you listen to. Sometimes even your closest friends might say things that aren’t right about God and/or His Word. This is why it’s important to get to know God and read the Bible for ourselves.

Next, as I said yesterday, we need praying friends. God specifically tells us such in places in the New Testament. Here, He tells Eliphaz to go to Job, offer a sacrifice to Him (God, not Job) and let Job pray on their behalf. I think this is partly a way for Job to forgive them. What do you think? God hears our prayers too, of course, but sometimes we need someone else taking our names & issues to the Lord.

On this same note, I feel led to say be careful also who you let pray for you. Be 100% sure they are Christians & live for Jesus. Believe it or not, but there are still people in the world who cause harm for the enemy. Word curses are real. The last thing you want is a curse spoken over you instead of a prayer!
