We have talked about Jeremiah before and how he is nicknamed “The weeping prophet”. He had so much bad news to give Israel from the LORD, that any good news was welcomed!
Chapter 31 is titled, “Hope for Restoration”. There was destruction on it’s way. But God was making promises for after that. (In our verses.) God redeemed Israel from those too strong for them. He did the same for us! In the name of Jesus, the enemy HAS to leave! Jesus has power over him and so do we by the authority Jesus gives us.
Once again, singing songs of joy is how they reacted to the good God was going to do. God does still provide for us too- maybe not crops of grain and all but if you have a place to live, food to eat, and clothes to wear, you can thank God for all of that. AND, be joyful for it! He loves us like He does Israel and He WILL take care of our needs.
