Jeremiah 15:15-16
Jeremiah was a prophet who God spoke to so He could give messages to His people. Chapter 15 is titled, “Judah’s Inevitable Doom”. Honestly, a lot of what Jeremiah had to tell them was bad news. So you can imagine how the people probably reacted to him.
Starting at verse 10, my Bible has “Jeremiah's Complaint”. Then he spoke to the Lord about wishing he had never been born. You have to be pretty low to feel that way. God’s reply back in verses 11-14 are worth the read! What God said prompted our verses. God encouraged him and told him that He will take care of him.
I am not 100% sure which “words” Jeremiah is referring to in verse 16. Probably a combination of God’s Words both written and spoken. God’s Word can bring joy to our lives. When we read, understand, and apply it to our lives, things change. WE change. We bear His name as well and we can learn, grow, and fight the enemy with God’s Word. We should take time daily in it too! That's one reason why I do this. It has helped me so much, and I wanted to help others.
