Hebrews 12:10-11

The title above chapter 12 in my Bible says, “God’s Discipline Proves His Love”. Sometimes what feels like suffering is actually God correcting us. Just like any good parent, a child must learn to listen to and obey their parents. Discipline is done to help keep the child safe too. Regardless of our age, there will ALWAYS be someone in authority over us. The ultimate person, of course, being God. That authority gives them the right to correct us.

Paul encouraged them & us to strip off any sin so we can run this race. That’s where discipline comes in. It points out our sin and helps us get rid of it.

Discipline from God is personal. It won’t look the same for me as it does you. I don’t think it's constant or anything to fear either. If it's good for us, like verse 10 says, then we should pull through with learned lessons and new attitudes. What do you think about discipline?
