Genesis 3:4-6

I started off this month’s list at the very beginning. We first need to establish the truth of God giving humans free will. If God would have wanted fake love from His creation, He would have made robots. Don’t get me wrong, God wants a relationship with every human, but He gave us the choice to not choose Him. He was close to Adam & Eve. He walked in the garden with them. He gave them the option of free will. The enemy took the opportunity to lie and they fell for it.

This leads me to a big thing this month…. Sometimes we suffer because of OUR decisions. Other times, people exercise their free will and cause US pain. The one thing God CANNOT do is over-ride someone's free will. He can stop a lot of bad things, or He can put things in place to stop them, but yet again, we have free will to let that thing work the way He wanted or not.

Let me give you an example. Later in Genesis, we meet Abraham and Sarah. God TOLD them they would have a son. But it wasn’t happening on Sarah’s timeline. She convinced Abraham to sleep with Hagar. They exercised their free will and got out of God’s plan. Sarah suffered and now we have the Muslim religion to deal with because Ishmael started it. God’s timing isn’t ours, but it’s always good.
