Ephesians 6:13-15 (read 16 & 17)

Please be sure to read verses 16 & 17. I didn’t have us write them, but I should have. This armor of God’s, of course, is nothing in the natural, but it can & does work. If we put on every piece, we will resist the enemy and still be standing firm after battle.

The belt of truth has to come from God’s Word but its not the same as the Word being our sword. When you know the truth about yourself & your identity, it’s easier to knock down enemy lies. Search the Scriptures for whatever you are struggling with so that when he lies to you, you fight back with the truth.

I’m not fully sure of the “shoes” of peace but I know that true peace comes from the LORD. We have the Holy Spirit in us and we always have access to peace. We can walk in peace, if we try. It also helps to focus on good & not the bad happening. Shifting your focus from the problems to the Problem Solver will help.

The parts we didn’t write are the shield of faith to stop the first darts of the enemy, helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. We know that faith is believing without seeing, so my opinion is even when things are rough, you know the truth so you can put out the arrows of the enemy. Being truly saved is the only way to access the Holy Spirit’s power, so I think the helmet is just a remembering of Who’s you are. Last but NEVER least, is God’s Word. Remember when satan was tempting Jesus? Jesus fought back with the WORD! That’s how we do it too.

I have one more thing to point out. Notice there is nothing in God’s armor for our backs. You know why? Because your brothers & sisters in Christ should be standing back to back with you. They literally “have your back” in battle through their prayers & encouragement.
