Deuteronomy 30:2-3
Chapter 30 of Deuteronomy is titled, “A Call To Return to the LORD”. At this point, Moses and the Israelites are still not at the Promised Land. Chapter 29 was Moses going over terms of the covenant the LORD was making with them. (In addition to the covenant He made with them at Mount Sinai.)
These 2 verses are what I like to call IF/THEN promises. God is plainly saying, “If you _________, then I will _________.” In this one, He says if they return to Him and obey with all their heart, then He will restore their fortunes and have mercy on them, gathering them all together. However, this is a FUTURE promise. Back up to read verse1. He is explaining this and it is based on times they are exiled to other countries.
God is SO good to us! He knows our futures and even if we will betray Him. Like the Israelites, He has a future plan to show us mercy too! I am so grateful for all God does and has done for me. How about you?
