Colossians 2:6-7

Once again, I apologize for starting with an “and”. I realize it makes our verses miss context, but I also don’t want you to have to write a ton each day either. Chapter 2 of Colossians is Paul mentioning the church at Laodicea and the ones who haven’t met him. He wanted them to understand things about God and Jesus. He also didn’t want them to be deceived about anything.

Our verses are a follow up to Paul saying he rejoices that they are living as they should and that their faith in Christ is strong. He wanted them to keep it up! He was encouraging them to continue to follow Jesus.

Verse 7 always makes me think of my oldest son. He went on a trip with our church as a teenager called ROOTS. It was a life changing trip for him based on this verse. We ALL should let our roots grown down deep into God and let our lives be built on Him. THEN, our faith will be strong in the truth and we will OVERFLOW with thankfulness!
