2nd Samuel 12:24-25

A lot has happened between yesterday's verses & today's. David made some terrible decisions. When he moved to Hebron, the Bible records 2 wives with him, Jezreel and Abigail. (2nd Samuel 2:2) His very first wife was Michal, Saul’s daughter. I couldb’t figure out why she wasn’t listed. When David moved the Ark of the Covenant, Michal was “filled with contempt” for David as he was dancing before the LORD.

Even with 3 wives, David saw Bathsheba one night. Just in case you don't know the story, he slept with her. She was married. She got pregnant from that one time. David tried everything the could to get her husband home from war, hoping he would be with her and they could pass the baby off as his. That didn’t happen. David had him moved to the front line of war and killed.

Then, he married Bathsheba and she gave birth to a son. But the baby got sick and died. David mourned, fasted, & prayed that God would spare the baby's life, but he passed anyway. Then our verses happen.

What’s very interesting to me is that God chose Bathsheba to continue Jesus's family line through. And this son just born, Solomon, he was the wisest and richest king Israel had ever seen!

One thing for sure- GOD was with David through all of the good and bad. Some of the bad were his own choices. (And consequences of his choices.) The GREAT thing is that God will be there for us just like he was David!!
