2 Timothy 2:11-13
These verses are immediately after yesterday's. I wish I knew if Paul was quoting someone here. These 3 verses are packed with good things!
If we are enduring hardship based on our faith in Jesus, then we can trust that He is with us. We can put all faith in Him and know that He will never leave or forsake us.
My NLT & the NIV Bibles both say in verse 12, that if we endure hardship, we will reign with Him. How do we reign with Him? I think Paul just means we will experience a very small piece of what Jesus lived through. He had hardships all during His ministry life. He reigns above it all! We have the power and the tools to get through it!
Verse 13 isn’t about getting through hard times, but it is very comforting! We all have times where we are unfaithful to God. But we can be assured, He will NEVER be unfaithful to us. He will deny us, if we deny Him, (verse 12), but that’s different. Denial and unfaithfulness are 2 different things. Denial is completely turning away from Jesus and acting like He isn’t real. Unfaithfulness is turning to worldly things INSTEAD of Jesus! Ultimately, when we go through hard times, we are better off going to HIM!
