1st Thessalonians 2:18-20

Have you heard the saying, “I’ve never seen a U-Haul following a hearse?” The truth is, the only thing we can take to Heaven with us is people. That’s what Paul is saying in our verses. He was upset because he was prevented from going to see them again, but he definitely wanted to communicate with them.

Paul let this church know that he had hope and joy knowing that they were going to Heaven one day. He was proud of their relationship with Jesus and joyous because they would all be together one day. I’m sure you have considered someone your pride and joy, maybe your own child or a niece or nephew. It's usually someone you helped raise or take care of and you watched them grow. I bet Paul felt like a proud dad in this moment. What do you think?
