1 Peter 4:18-19

This is our last day in 1 Peter. So we know that verse 18 is a follow up to 17. Peter is saying if the righteous are “barely” saved then unsaved people have no hope! Which we know isn't the truth at all. When we are saved, that's it. And all of the unsaved people have plenty of chances to fully surrender to God.

Now, let me be clear on something. My NLT says, “if you are suffering in a manner that pleases God….” The NIV says, “those who suffer according to God’s will.” What Peter is saying is if we suffer because of our faith, then keep doing what is right. God does not cause our suffering. God does not WILL for us to suffer. But if suffering comes because we are living for Him then so be it.

We can trust God with our lives. Period. He will NEVER fail us!
