1 Corinthians 16:13

Starting at verse 5 of Chapter 16 my Bible has the title, “Paul’s Final Instructions”. He tells them that he is coming to visit them, possibly for the entire winter season. He was in Ephesus at the time.

In verse 12, he mentions Apollos, then he says verse 13. He is encouraging them that no matter who is physically with them, they can do everything he says in verse 13. This advice is good for us now as well.

Being on guard, being courageous, being strong, & standing firm in your faith are ways to get through anything!

Let’s break it down some. Being on guard is being ready BUT it’s not about always looking for something bad to happen. You get what you look for, right?! I think it means stayed prayed up, read Scriotures out loud, and ask others for prayer.

Standing firm in the faith is remembering God’s Word & promises. Don’t waver. Don’t allow the enemy to make you doubt the truth. God will get us through anything the world, the enemy, or we ourselves throw at us! You can count on that!
