Romans 10:9-10

Have you heard the saying, “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.”? I think the enemy put that into the world to help us doubt salvation. The truth is, people either believe they are good people & that will go to Heaven, or they don’t care. Some people feel like they are doing wrong, others just do whatever feels right to them. The truth is we were born into sin because of Adam & Eve AND we are in a fallen world with the enemy of our souls running rampant. Yes, God is in charge, but He gave humans dominion over the earth in Genesis 1:28. When Satan was tempting Jesus in Luke chapter 4, he says that he was given authority over kingdoms. (Verse 5) Now, I couldn’t find anything that said God gave him the earth, and he lies, but he is here and runs wild!

Salvation isn't too good to be true. The truth is, we were born sinners, but we were created for more. We were created to have a relationship with our Creator. Therefore, if we openly declare that Jesus is LORD and believe it in our hearts, we WILL be saved. It’s that simple.

My NLT version says, “openly declaring your faith” in verse 10, that makes me think of baptism. Salvation is in our hearts & between us & God, but we should openly declare it too! Baptism is the perfect way to do that because it is following in Jesus’ footsteps (He was baptized.) and proclaiming your relationship with Him to the world! My husband got baptized this summer because he had been as a teenager and wanted to proclaim his salvation to God and the world again.

Its NEVER too late!!! As long as someone is breathing, they can be saved! Baptism is good but if they physically can’t, it’s ok. God knows their decision.
