Proverbs 22:24-25

Anger is not a good thing to battle with because it turns into bitterness which literally, like Solomon said, endangers your soul. Some people just STAY angry. It’s always on the surface and comes out when they talk. Others totally suppress their anger. Something bothers them but they stuff it without any communication at all. They stuff, stuff, stuff, then explode! The problem is, you never know when they will explode.

Being around someone like either of these people is not good for us. We could either potentially become an angry person too or we will be traumatized by the explosions. Neither way is God’s design for us.

As I said the other day, besides your spouse, you can’t pick your family, but you CAN pick your friends. BUT with family you can use boundaries to protect yourself. God’s anger all throughout the Bible was righteous. He had good reason for it. The Bible tells us how He is slow to anger. We should work on ourselves to become slow to anger as well as be careful picking friends.
