Nehemiah 8:10

Yes, we write this verse last month. Nope, I did not make a mistake. That's what I love about the Bible! It’s active and alive! (Hebrews 4:12) Verses can be referenced for more than one thing.

How can the joy of the LORD give you strength? It helps you through hard and emotional times. In this chapter, Nehemiah had just helped them rebuild the wall around Jerusalem. (Their protection.) Israel returned from exile and a census was taken.

Then, Ezra the Scribe brought out the Book of the Law of Moses and read it. (That is called The Torah and it is the first 5 books of the Bible.) The people began weeping as the Bible was read and explained to them. Then Nehemiah said our verse. God can strengthen us through HIS joy. Sure beats the alternative of sadness!
