Luke 4:9-11

After John baptized Jesus, the Spirit led Him into the wilderness. He was tempted by the devil for 40 days. One thing we have to notice is the devil knows Scripture. Second, he uses my favorite, that we wrote yesterday, Psalm 91 here in this temptation. (It’s also an Old Testament & New Testament connection.)

I am of the opinion that God WILL order angels to help us or the devil wouldn’t have used that to tempt Jesus with! Not to mention, he was trying to kill Jesus, so if He jumped off the Temple and no angels helped, He would have died. It's upsetting to me to know that the devil knows and uses Scripture- BUT that's just proof that we need to know it too! EVERYTIME Jesus was tempted, He taught back with Scripture. That is one reason why it’s important for us to be in the Word daily.
