Genesis 39:19-21

The Ishmalite traders took Joseph to Egypt and sold him to Potiphar, a captain in the guard for Pharoah, King of Egypt. God was with Joseph and caused him to be successful. Potiphar decided to make Joseph his personal assistant for his entire household.

According to the Bible, Joseph was a very handsome & “well built” man. (Genesis 39:6) I’m guessing no fat and some muscle definition? This tempted Potiphar’s wife & she started making advances at him and asking for him to come sleep with her. Joseph told her that it would be a wicked thing and great sin against God & Potiphar if he did that. She insisted. He turned her down more than once. The last time she tried, she grabbed his cloak. (An outer garment.) He pulled away, leaving the cloak in her hand. Out of spite, she yelled for the guards and lied. She told them that HE had made advances towards HER and tried to rape her. Then our verses happen.

One of the worst things is being accused of doing something that you DID NOT do. Like you 100% no way on earth did such a thing. I would like to remind us, God was WITH him. Don't forget that. Joseph, yet again, had not done anything wrong. God did not leave him or turn His back on him. We don’t always understand why we go through some of the things we go through, but God knows. We can be resilient like Joseph and trust God turning the hard times.
