1 Peter 4:7-8

“The end of the world is coming soon.” Welcome to Monday for us! 🤣 Sorry to start off on a somewhat gloomy note. But verse 7 is true. We really have no idea when it will all be over, but we should be earnest & disciplined in our prayers & love like it’s the end times.

Let me set something straight about verse 8. Love covering sins is a good thing- but it is not to be misused. We are called to love others. Period. However, we are not being asked to stay in unhealthy toxic relationships. Let me tell you why. If you are in an abusive relationship, you are surviving & God isn’t first in your heart, mind, & soul. Also, His love for us is so huge that He does not want us mistreated. Don’t allow this verse to excuse abuse.

On the flip side of that… God IS love, right? So we should love people like He does & He forgives sins like only He can. Abusers can change. EVERYONE will change once they are fully surrendered to Him. This His love will cover all our sins.
